From browser to battlefield.

The companion connects this directory to your installed copy of Quake III. Choose a separate executable for each version you play.

  1. Download & extract the companion.The package includes readable source code and a setup script.
  2. Run Install.ps1 with Windows PowerShell.Setup opens a file picker. Select your 1.16 and/or 1.32 game executable, then choose “Save & enable joining”.
  3. Choose a server and launch.Your browser may ask to open Q3 Arena Companion. The game starts with that server’s address.

Requires Windows PowerShell 5.1 / .NET Framework. No administrator access or game download required. Read README.txt inside the package for setup and removal.

Prefer the console?

Open Quake III, press ~ and paste the server’s /connect command. This also works without the companion.

These records come from all 168 entries in the GameTracker Quake 3 directory inspected on October 3, 2026. Each entry links to its original source and server variables.

1.16 Versions
32 entries reported Q3 1.16n and protocol 43.
1.32 Versions
54 entries explicitly reported Q3 1.32 and protocol 68. Other engines and ambiguous entries are excluded pending individual verification.
Availability
Compatibility evidence is a snapshot. This site does not currently run a live server-query service. “Not checked live” does not mean offline. Unknown player counts are shown as dashes.
Game modes & mods
Base modes come from the reported g_gametype. Mods can change their rules; details preserve the reported mod name. The Rail & Instagib filter searches names only.
Local preferences
Favorites and radio volume stay in this browser. Music starts only when you press play.
